We just bought this swing and it also makes a very annoying clicking and grinding sound. The more weight you put in it the louder the sound gets. We called Fisher-Price and got a replacement motor right away with no problems BUT it makes the exact same noise. It's very annoying!!!! The other problem, with both motors, is that it swings at the same speed no matter the setting.

These problems are due to design flaws not that they are defective. Fisher-Price should test this devices fully assembled and with objects in them simulating babies within the weight range to make sure it doesn't make these sounds before selling them.

At this price range these problems should not exist. Might as well buy a cheaper one if all swings make these noises.

I bought this swing because it is adorable, and because of all the great reviews. The music doesn't flow together at all, a lot of the music sounds like carnival music... Not soothing bed time music. So whenever a semi-peaceful songs plays, a high strung song follows. The nature sounds are great though, so I'm probably going to keep it on that setting. You also can't choose the song you want to hear, you can only choose from 4, then the swing plays the rest one after another, you don't get to choose what song your baby will get to sleep to, which I really don't like at all since they accentuate the abundant number of songs and sounds, you'd think you'd at least get to choose them...The motor is also pretty loud. It sounds like fisher price took an annoying scratching noice and amplified it. Its hard to hear soft music over it, so you basically have to blast the songs and sounds to ever hear it properly. For the money, I wish I had gotten a swing with a better thought out design that actually swung well and wasn't noisey. But- I listened to all the raving reviews and though I was getting somthing great! Its not a bad swing, just not really what it is made out to be.

We were looking for a swing for our new baby girl and chose this one. It was perfect. We were able to use it as soon as we brought her home from the hospital. We kept it in the living room and she has swung and napped many hours in it. She is now 7 months old and she still likes the swing, watches the butterfly mobile, and loves the lights and music. I would recommend this swing to anyone with a new baby girl.
